Ukraine and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have a tendency towards gradual increase in bilateral turnover.
Ihor Kalyetnik, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, member of the Central Committee of Presidium of Communist Party of Ukraine, announced this on Thursday in Kyiv during the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Huynh Ngoc Son.
According to him, in 2012 mutual turnover reached UDS 443 mln.
“We can already see an increase of 25% for nine month of this year in comparison with last year and the volume of mutual trade – almost USD 380 mln,” said Ihor Kalyetnik.
He added that Ukraine and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have great potential for development of trade and economic cooperation.
“I mean the possibility of signing Agreement on Free Trade between Ukraine and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine prepared general analysis of possible consequences of concluding such agreement. It shows that implementation of free trade will be beneficial for both countries,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament.
He explained that “during the first years after concluding the agreement, increase in volume of Ukrainian export to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam almost by USD 750 mln is stipulated. Increase in volume of Vietnamese import to Ukraine is stipulated to reach the level of USD 430 mln.”
“Level of development of trade and economic cooperation always plays the leading role in bilateral relations between two countries. I think that we should accelerate negotiations process in this direction which will allow improve pace of economic growth of both countries,” summed up the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament.
